The Bottom Line

Mineral Fusion Summer 2008 Collection screams summertime. Even though the lip gloss didn't compliment me, I know it would look great on sun-kissed skin tones.

Pros

  • Products are paraben-free
  • Natural colorants are used for shades
  • Mineral properties offer UV protection and antioxidants
  • Good color and texture from all products
  • No fragrance or taste

Cons

  • The eyeshadow trio is fun, but I didn't like all 3 colors together
  • The lip gloss is somewhat thin and doesn't last as long as other brands
  • The lip gloss may not compliment all skin tones

Description

  • Manufacturer - Glo Professional
  • Can be purchased online or at Whole Foods
  • Contains a majority of Vegan natural ingredients
  • Suggested Price - Total (approximate) $88.50

Guide Review - Review of Mineral Fusion Summer 2008 Collection

Summer makeup colors are all around us, and Mineral Fusion recently launched their summer collection into the mix. I recently contacted Glo Professional, the main company for Mineral Fusion, and requested samples of their summer collection. When the samples arrived I was very pleased to see that they were definite shades for summer.

The lip gloss is a very pretty coral tone. I am very fair with dark features, so this somewhat washed me out, but it would look fabulous on tanned skins. The gloss texture was very comfortable and moisturizing, and there was no taste or smell. The down side, besides the color on my skin tone, was the lasting power. The gloss didn't last long on my lips, but the company never stated that it would, so that's fair.

Also in the summer collection is a blush. It is a wonderful peachy-coral tone and it looked fabulous on my cheeks. The color was not over powering and looked very natural. The bonus with the blush is that you can add more or less to suit your tone without it getting cakey.

The final products in the summer collection are two new eyeshadows. One is a single, and it is a very nice shimmery taupe-bronze shade. The other is a trio, and comes with a shimmery golden shade, a bronze-rose shade, and a true-bronze shade. I liked using the golden and the true-bronze colors together, but not with the rose shade. I did like using the rose-bronze shade and the golden shade together though, so the trio gave several options for application.

The bottom line is that the Mineral Fusion summer collection holds true to their product standards of natural ingredients that are actually good for your skin. Plus the pigmentation of the products was nice. Even though I had some issues with the coloring for my skin tone, I would definitely use these colors for summer on other skin colors and tones.
