Estee Lauder's Summer Collection 2009 is almost whimsical and fairytale-inspired in nature. The Vivid Garden collection is drenched in soft and fluttery colors that will give you an escape from the heat of the day as well as your hectic life by allowing you to break free and feel inspired. It's as if you were walking in a fragrant summer garden filled with beautiful pink and purple blooming flowers, while sipping a cool and refreshing herbal tea. So even though bronze is okay for summer time this year think calming, feminine, and yet vivid.
A Summer Face
Limited Edition Vivid Garden Illuminating Powder (Compare Prices) - Just as with the Estee Lauder spring collection embossed compact, the summer collection embossed compact is equally as beautiful both in the container and on your skin. I have to admit that I am a sucker for skin illuminators this year, and the Vivid Garden Illuminating Powder is one of my new best friends. The compact has three shades (pink, purple, and creamy white) with a hint of gold, so they can be swirled together for a gorgeous glow or used individually on cheeks and eyes.
Summer Eyes

The colors are beautiful and to top it off Estee Lauder added a gorgeous golden blossom design. Each shadow gives you a different shade and texture, so you can be sure that you will be able to highlight, contour, and emphasize your eyes for summer without breaking a sweat. The Duo-Tone Eye Pencil is a perfect match for emphasizing your eyes and making them pop just right. It also stays in place all day and won't smudge so no raccoon eyes by the end of the hot days ahead. Of course, you can also pair the Duo-Tone pencil (Aqua and Teal) from the Bronze Goddess Collection for a nice added boost of color.
Summer Lips and Nails
Limited Edition Pure Color Illuminating Gloss in Lotus Blossom and Peach Blossom (Compare Prices) Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Coral and Sweet Lychee (Compare Prices) Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Peach Blossom and Lotus Blossom (Compare Prices) The Pure Color Illuminating Gloss was a bit to pastel for my taste when worn alone, but when it's paired with a lip liner or stain it's absolutely fabulous. As a bonus, the gloss is not sticky what-so-ever, and instead it is very smooth and satiny. And if lipstick is more your thing, then you can always check out one of the two new Pure Color Crystal Lipstick shades, which also work well paired with the Illuminating Gloss. Finally to round out your look don't forget your nails. I tried the Lotus Blossom Nail Lacquer, and even though it's a little too light for my toes I did like the color, shimmer, and pearlescent look on my hands.
