Review of Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream

We love our foundation and our skin care products, so what could be more perfect than using a single product for both? I have to admit that at first I was a little leery of whether the Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream would actually work well enough since it’s prices very low and it’s made by a company that focuses on skin care and hair care products. Personally I love Garnier’s moisturizers and eye products, along with some of their hair care products, so I was really excited to learn that their BB cream worked just as well (if not better) than some of the high-end brands.

So let’s get into the details. First of all, I tested the product (as always) on multiple days with a day in-between in order to ensure there was absolutely no allergic reaction. Just to let you know there was no reaction, which made the product even better. Now for the details on how the BB Cream actually performed. The first thing I noticed was the scent of the product. If you have used Garnier skin care products in the past then you are very well aware of the classic Garnier scent. So if you don’t mind this signature scent then you’ll be fine, otherwise this one may not be for you. The consistency of the BB Cream was very nice, and seemed slightly thicker than a regular tinted moisturizer. While applying it you can definitely feel the creaminess that comes from the added skin care benefits. Overall the product was very easy to apply and it blended in very easily. I did set the BB Cream with my KohGenDo Face Powder, and then followed through with my blush and other makeup products.

Throughout the day the BB Cream wore very well and I liked how it evened out my skin tone, hid imperfections just enough, and gave my skin a slight brightness. As for staying power it was very similar to your typical tinted moisturizer, but it seemed to last for approximately six to eight hours of regular wear (not extreme heat and humidity). I also noticed that it did not settle at all in any fine lines throughout the day, and it continued to make my skin look really great. Overall it’s definitely a great idea and works wonderfully as a quick makeup and skin care application for those in a hurry. I would definitely use it again, and in fact I am seriously considering replacing my favorite foundation with the Garnier BB Cream.
