The Bottom Line

Okay for the price, but if you want definite color you may want to shell out the extra bucks for another brand, such as Vincent Longo’s Vibrant Eye Mascara(Compare Prices).

Pros

  • At least half the price of “high end” line mascaras
  • Doesn’t flake or smudge easily
  • Double-ended tip gives you two colors instead of only one
  • Does not agitate eyes, even while wearing contacts
  • Washes off easily

Cons

  • The base coat color has a fairly strong odor
  • The new iFX mascara wand gives nothing more than ordinary lash definition with the base coat
  • In the subtle colors, multiple coats of the highlighter have to be applied to see the color
  • Hard to choose the color you want due to not being able to try before you buy

Description

  • Manufacturer – Max Factor, a Procter & Gamble company
  • Base Mascara – Max Factor’s Lash Perfecting Mascara
  • Mascara Wand – Max Factor patented iFX brush
  • Shades – Available in 5 double-ended shades
  • Average Cost - $11.00 U.S
  • Made in the U.S.A with U.S and imported parts

Guide Review - Max Factor Vivid Impact Mascara

Everyone knows that it’s hard to find the perfect mascara. So when you finally find one you love you may begin to grow tired of using the same boring colors over and over again. So what’s a girl to do, except have a stockpile of every brand and color known to woman? The easy fix for your color woes would be to buy all five shades of Max Factor’s Vivid Impact Mascara. But if you are looking to be wowed by vivid color, you may want to look elsewhere.

The basic price point for the mascara isn’t bad, but the fact that they use their “legendary” Lash Perfection mascara for the base coat urges me to ask one question; what makes it so legendary? Max Factor’s Lash Perfection mascara is supposed to be volumizing, but I experienced nothing more than average effects. Their new iFX mascara wand didn’t seem to add the volume I was expecting, though it was very flexible. On the highlighting end, the wand was sparser and it took several applications in order to see the color well enough.

Compared to the “higher end” brands that have manufactured tinted mascara over the years, Max Factor’s Vivid Impact Mascara leaves much to be desired. Even though the formula did not smudge, did not irritate my eyes, and was easy to wash off, it took too many applications to achieve the desired effect, did not volumize my lashes, and my lashes did not feel as comfortable and natural as with the “higher end” tinted mascaras.

Basically, if you are looking to add good color to your lashes then you may want to splurge for a different brand. But if you want a “hint” of color that can be seen in direct and natural lighting only, then you may want to consider Max Factor’s Vivid Impact Mascara. Just remember to add extra time to your regular regime in order to experience the full impact of the product.
