Guide Review - Review of Simply Karen Mineral Makeup Kit
While searching for natural, new, and/or little known mineral makeup lines I found Simply Karen and contacted them for samples to review. Once I received the package and began testing the Allure Kit, I was a little put-off over the brushes. They weren't the best brushes I have tried, which is why I didn't rate the line a full five. They are not as soft as some of the other makeup brushes on the market, but they did not shed which was a plus. The actual mineral makeup was phenomenal, however. It was very light and smooth, and when I applied it to my skin it did not emphasize my lines or pores. The powder was almost creamy to the touch with no greasiness what-so-ever. There was no fragrance, and the colors that I was sent were a perfect match. The bonus was that the mineral foundation actually covered my under eye dark circles and any blemishes, which some of the other mineral lines did not.
The containers in the kit were of average size, and included two foundations and a mineral veil. It also came with a blush and your choice of eyeshadow or bronzer. I received eyeshadow with my kit and it was one of the better mineral eyeshadows that I have tried so far. It was very creamy and the pigmentation was fabulous. Sometimes mineral eyeshadow can be very minimal on color, but not Simply Karen. It was very nice to see truly vivid color for a change.
All-in-all Simply Karen is a definite contender for the top ten mineral makeup lines. The long-lasting wear of the makeup, along with the lightweight feel makes Simply Karen one of my favorites. Overall, I think the two best things about the Simply Karen mineral makeup line was the fact that it really is natural, and there is a very wide selection of shades. So no matter if you are super pasty white like I am, or are a dark-skinned bronze goddess, there is a matching shade for everyone.
