Pros and Cons of Koh Gen Do Maifanshi UV Face Powder SPF20
Description of Koh Gen Do Maifanshi UV Face Powder SPF20
Review of Koh Gen Do Maifanshi UV Face Powder SPF20
For full disclosure I have always been an avid fan and full supporter of the Koh Gen Do line. So when I was offered their new face powder for review I was extremely excited. I have tried every powder they make including the Mainfanshi Natural Lighting Powder and their regular Mainfanshi Face Powder. Initially I thought the new Maifanshi UV Face Powder SPF20 was just their regular lighting powder with an added SPF20, but it actually is quite different. The new Maifanshi UV Face Powder SPF20 contains extra moisturizing properties from jojoba seed oil, silk powder and sodium hyaluronate which help to moisturize your skin and ensures you don’t look dry and chalky. The new powder also contains two types of powders in one, which leave your skin silky feeling and flawless in high definition style.
So how does a powder make your skin appear more flawless? The light reflectors in the powder work hard to, well, reflect light which adds radiance to your skin while also giving the appearance of a flawless finish. The other property of the powder is a very fine pearl powder, and its’ job is to find its way into any uneven surfaces in your skin, such as pores and lines. Once there it camouflages them, which also gives your skin a more flawless appearance. It’s no wonder they use Koh Gen Do products for Hollywood films.
So now that you have the full rundown of what the powder does, I bet you’re wondering if it actually works. The answer is an all-out Yes! I’m always afraid that face powder is going to sit on my skin and leave me looking too made-up or chalky, but the new Maifanshi UV Face Powder didn’t do either. Instead my skin looked virtually flawless (which I loved), felt silky to the touch, and you couldn’t see the powder sitting on my skin like you would a regular powder or even a mineral powder makeup. Trust me on this one because during the winter months my skin gets as dry as the Sahara. So normally powder on my face, no matter how much moisturizer I apply beforehand, normally looks unnatural and chalky.
Other than the formula, feel and look of the powder I also liked the container and puff applicator. The container is very sturdy plastic, with just the right size holes for the product to come through. There was no mess when I closed the lid and tossed it around in my makeup bag, so that was a bonus. Also, there was no plume of powder in the air or on my bathroom counter, unlike with mineral powders. Finally the puff applicator was like a soft pillow, and the application process was very easy and mess-free.
The Bottom Line on Koh Gen Do Maifanshi UV Face Powder SPF20
My love of the Koh Gen Do line begins to grow even more with their new Face Powder. I can now say goodbye to the chalky feeling of regular powder, as well as the powder plume from mineral powder makeup. Koh Gen Do has officially taken the fear out of using a powder product, even for dry or mature skin types.
