Soften the Liner

Soften and smudge the liner around the eyes

After successfully lining the eyes you will need to go back and smudge the liner to give your eyes a smokey eye effect. If you use the Stila eye liner or the Wet n Wild eye liner then you already have a smudging stick to get the job done. Otherwise you can use your fingertip, a Q-tip, or an angled eyeshadow brush.

When smudging the eye liner maker sure to brush the color outwards as well. Also, don't over-smudge because then you won't see your eye liner once you apply the eyeshadow and you will have to re-line your eyes.
