  • Guide Review of Christopher Drummond Beauty Duo-Phase Concealer

I was first introduced to Christopher’s Beauty line in 2008, where I had the opportunity to review his Saude Pele Radiance Booster. I immediately fell in love with Saude Pele so you could only imagine how excited I was when I found out that the Christopher Drummond Beauty line has grown, and now he offers various makeup items for your eyes, lips and face. The bonus is that Christopher’s products are still natural, pure and organic so you don’t get any added toxins or chemicals. One of Christopher’s hot-ticket items is his Duo-Phase Hydrating Concealer. According to Christopher his concealer was chosen the best among makeup experts when compared to Stila, Dior and Lancome concealers in a blind test. Well we tested it as well, so let’s find out how it did.

Just like Christopher’s Skin Prep product, the first thing I noticed upon application was the wonderful spa-like scent from the essential oils. It’s very rare to have such a wonderful scent in a makeup product, so this was a good start. The other thing that stood out to me immediately was the really nice pump container. Instead of squeezing a tube like it was toothpaste, or contaminating a pot from dipping your fingers in daily the Duo-Phase Concealer comes in an airless pump so you don’t have to worry about germs or a mess. So now that you know about the container and wonderfully aromatic scent, how about the actual concealer? Upon first pump the consistency was fabulous. It was creamy and just thick enough to cover all blemishes, spots, under eye circles and imperfections. The first time I used the concealer I decided to use it only as a concealer, so I placed it around my eye area and on any blemishes or dark spots in my skin. It blended very well and extremely easily, and only took seconds to dry and set into place. Two things stood out to me about using the product as a concealer; first, it covered far better than any other concealer I have ever used. Second, it didn’t look dry or cakey what-so-ever around my eye area which is the best news since none of us want those fine lines or wrinkles emphasized. Instead it seemed to smooth out my under eye area.

The first application went well, and ended up lasting all-day after lightly setting it with a loose powder. Of course you could also use Christopher’s Skin Prep underneath to ensure the staying power as well. The following day I decided to test the concealer as a light cream foundation by applying it in more areas as-needed, and blending, blending, blending. I really liked the feel and coverage, plus knowing that I could use my concealer as my foundation for a quick makeup application. After lightly setting the concealer, again, my makeup lasted all-day. Removal of the Duo-Phase Concealer at night was easy as well, so even though it stays in place all-day don’t worry that you’ll have to scrub your skin off at night in order to remove it completely. I used my regular face wash and my skin was clean as normal.

After my 2-day trial I decided to try a third day by turning the concealer into a light foundation or tinted moisturizer. You can do this by mixing it with your favorite moisturizer, but I actually add Christopher’s Skin Prep and mixed it in the palm of my hand. This gave me the benefit of the Skin Prep, while thinning out the concealer into a thinner foundation or tinted moisturizer. The application was perfect, and by using the Skin Prep product the color wasn’t lightened so it was still the perfect shade for my skin. I ended up using a lot less of the concealer, and about the same amount of the Skin Prep as usual. The finished look was lightweight, very comfortable, and it lasted the entire day without touching up. After my 3-day trial I absolutely loved the concealer and could definitely understand how the makeup experts in Christopher’s blind test could choose his Duo-Phase Concealer over other industry leaders’ concealers.

The Bottom Line on Christopher Drummond Beauty Duo-Phase Concealer

Christopher’s Duo-Phase Concealer really does work as a double-duty beauty product, and then some. It is one of the most versatile products I have ever tried, and the fact that it’s 100% natural makes it instantly soar to the top of my must-have beauty list.
