Guide Review of Buxom True Hue Blush
After receiving four of the eight new Buxom True Hue blushes in the mail I was quickly intrigued. First of all the size of the compact was nice giving 0.17 ounces of blush, and second the compact also had a rather large mirror which is perfect for your purse. I received Tryst (shimmery clay), Seduction (bright pink), Breathless (pinkish peach), and Shangri-La-La (toasted berry) which gave me a nice selection of colors from clay tones to berries, peaches and pinks. Automatically I fell in love with Breathless, which is a peachy-pink tone, before I could even get it on my cheeks.
Of course I had to test each color in order to get a more well-rounded review, instead of just thinking the colors were hot. So I tested each shade on my cheeks two different times each, on different days during the week. Each shade worked out extremely well, even the bright pink shade called Seduction. The color really was buildable, allowing me to either wear each shade more naturally or darker. I also tried to blend a couple of the shades together, and this worked well also. I found the combinations of Tryst and Breathless worked really well together, and so did Tryst and Shangri-La-La. I was rather impressed with the ability to blend the shades together, as well as build the color that I wanted.
Other than the buildable coverage and blendable colors, I noticed there was something a little different about the True Hue Blushes. My cheeks seemed more naturally vibrant, which gave a more rested look to my face. As it turns out each shade actually contains an ingredient called rhodiola, which according to Bare Escentuals is “an artic plant root that makes cheeks appear refreshed”. I’ve never heard of this artic root, but I like the way it perked up my cheeks and made me look well rested. With so many of us constantly on the go and not getting enough sleep it is imperative to have something to give us an extra “refresher” boost.
Overall I really liked the shades tested, the texture, and lack of parabens and fragrances. Personally I love many of the Buxom products, but normally I don’t get too excited over blush shades. Buxom’s True Hue Blush had me excited with the first application. I believe this is the first blush line I have found that I absolutely love, including the different shades. Sure it doesn’t come with a brush, but the large compact mirror makes up for that especially since you can swap it out for that huge mirror that’s currently taking up too much room in your purse.
