Guide Review of Palladio Tinted Lip Balm
Recently while at the local Sally Beauty Supply store I noticed some really hot colors and products from a line called Palladio Cosmetics. The products caught my eye, but the price made them even more enticing. The line offered a very wide variety of products from mascara to face powder and foundation, to products for your eyes and lips and everywhere in-between. To begin the group of reviews for Palladio, I’ve decided to begin with something that everyone loves; tinted lip balm. So let’s get started.
First of all, Sally’s offered eight fantastic shades and the Palladio Website offers nine. I thought every shade was great, but I chose Bronzy Pink because of my newly blond-highlighted hair color. Overall the shade was more bronzy than pink, but did give a slight hint of a pink undertone. This was nice because it looked like a fun and trendy shade for spring, leading into summer. The texture was very nice as well. It was extremely creamy and moisturizing and it did not have any trace of a bad taste. After testing the lip balm for a week and applying it two-three times a day, I found that my lips really did feel more moisturized and conditioned even when not wearing it. This was probably due to the natural oils and extracts in the lip balm. Palladio Tinted Lip Balm contains beeswax, Shea butter, Sunflower oil, Avocado oil, ginseng root, ginkgo biloba, chamomile and aloe leaf extract. Each of these ingredients work together in harmony to condition your lips while making them soft and supple. It also contains Caprylic/Capric Trigyceride, which is a liquid derived from coconut oil that acts as a natural UV filter. So the sensitive skin on your lips is conditioned and protected at the same time.
The packaging was also nice because it mimicked a regular tube of lip balm or Chapstick by having the normal twist-up and down tube. It’s perfect for tossing into your bag or pocket, and running out the door to the pool or a party. The colors available are also fun and on-trend for spring and summer. These shades range in color from very light (Cotton Candy) to darker shades (Brownie), so there is a definite color choice for every skin tone. The color is one thing, but how about the lasting power? Since it’s a lip balm you can’t expect it to last all-day, but it did last for about two hours of not drinking or eating. Even though it’s not completely long-lasting it’s still a steal because the moisturizing feel will have you not think twice about reapplying throughout the day. And since the price is around $4 a tube, that makes it okay to reapply often. Sometimes you can also find it on sale at Sally’s Beauty Supply for only $2.99, so that would be the perfect time to stock-up.
Overall the price and color range, plus the natural oils and extracts, make Palladio’s Tinted Lip Balm a must-have. The only downside was the last ingredient in the product; Propylparaben. Since it’s the last ingredient listed that means that there is very little added, but it is still there. So for those of you that have promised to not use paraben-laden products then you may not be interesting in this tinted balm, but if small traces don’t bother you then this is definitely a score.
The Bottom Line on Palladio’s Tinted Lip Balm
Palladio Cosmetics hit this one out of the park. Their Tinted Lip Balm offers trendy and fun colors while also giving your lips a deep moisturizing treatment. When you add in the extremely affordable price, you’ve got a new tinted lip balm winner. So look out Burt’s Bees, you’ve got competition.
